Clinical Supervision

My Approach

I have been working as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist since 2008, and a Clinical Supervisor since 2013, working across Community Health, NGO and Private Practice during this time. I have worked in clinical and managerial roles, providing clinical and administrative focussed Supervision to clinicians of various professional backgrounds and from all stages in their career, from students on placement to experienced practitioners.

After working with individuals and families affected by gambling addiction in the early stages of my career, I shifted to the area of Complex Trauma, holding various roles supporting the important work of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Childhood Sexual Abuse as well as the area of Forced Adoption. My particular areas of interest are in working relationally with clients who have CPTSD or Personality Disorders, incorporating her training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Transference Focussed Psychotherapy (TFP) and Janina Fisher's model of Healing Trauma Fragmentation.

My approach to Clinical Supervision is informed by the work of Michael Carroll with the needs of the clinician and the client being the priority. My favourite aspect of being a Clinical Supervisor is providing a reflective space for Supervisees to explore the dynamics present between them and their clients in the therapy room.
